Breitling Navitimer
Breitling and aviation go together like bread and butter. In the 1940s, Breitling added a circular slide rule to their chronograph models which made the piece capable of performing all calculations a flight plan requires. This became the famous Navitimer model.



Navitimer launched in 1952
Breitling launched the Navitimer in 1952 and gave aircraft pilots a genuine wrist instrument. The Navitimer then became the official watch of the Aircraft owners and Pilots Association, the world’s largest grouping of pilots.

Breitling in space

In the the early days of space exploration, Breitling created the Navitimer Cosmonaute. Because of the lack of day and night during space travel, the Cosmonaute was created with a 24 hour dial instead of the normal 12 hour dial. It was worn by Scott Carpenter on his 1962 space flight

Navitimer with diamonds

The Navitimer is a self-winding chronograph made out of steel, gold and diamonds and can be worn with straps or bracelets. Continuously produced throughout this period, it is now the world’s oldest chronograph.

In over fifty years of existence, the Navitimer has achieved cult object status, joining the select circle of modern, ultra-functional and timeless objects that have made their mark on the 20th century.
