Godfather number three: John Gotti
At number three in this Wannahaves Knock Out Most famous and notorious godfather is off course John Gotti. John Gotti ran a huge crime syndicate in New York City. John Gotti’s nick-name was Telfon Don or Dapper Don because of his expensive clothes and his enormous luck. All the crimes he was accused of committing didn’t ‘stick’ to him, hence the name Teflon Don.
Godfather number two: Al Capone
Al Capone, who can leave him out? Al Capone is our number two most famous godfather. We all know dear old Al from the Scarface movies. Al Capone was an American gangster who led a crime syndicate dedicated to smuggling and bootlegging of liquor and other illegal activities during the Prohibition Era of the 1920s and 1930s. Although he was never successfully convicted of racketeering charges, Capone's criminal career ended in 1931, when he was indicted and convicted by the federal government for income-tax evasion.
Godfather number one: Vito 'Don' Corleone
And the number one in our Knock Out Top3 of famous godfathers is although fictional: Don Corleone. Vito "Godfather" Andolini Corleone is a fictional character in Mario Puzo's novel The Godfather, as well as Francis Ford Coppola's trilogy of films based on it, where he was portrayed by Marlon Brando in The Godfather and by Robert De Niro in The Godfather Part II. Vito Corleone is the head of the Corleone crime family, the most powerful Mafia family in the New York City area. He is depicted as an ambitious Italian immigrant who moves to the lower east side of Manhattan and builds a Mafia empire, yet retains (and strictly adheres to) his own personal code of honor.
